In recent years, spatio-temporal modelling is becoming a crucial area of research related to the statistical analysis of data arising from a wide variety of real applications in dierent elds such as ecology, biology, geology, epidemiology, and environmental health, to name a few. All of these elds treat with spatio-temporal data. From a statistical point of view, the data can be regarded as realizations of random variables spread out in space and evolving in time. In this paper we provide a brief introduction to the dierent types of spatio-temporal data
