Resumen de Exoplanetas: la promesa de una Planetología comparada

La detección en 1995 del primer candidato a exoplaneta descubierto alrededor de una estrella de la secuencia principal distinta del Sol marcó una revolución copernicana de la Astrofísica y de la Ciencia en general. En esta revisión repasaremos brevemente la corta historia y las metodologías empleadas para la detección de exoplanetas y cómo éstos serán detectados en el futuro cercano. Se dará un especial énfasis a los candidatos a exoplanetas detectados por el método de velocidad radial y a los detectados directamente en cúmulos estelares muy jóvenes.

The detection in 1995 of the first exoplanet candidate discovered around a main sequence star different from the Sun marked the beginning of a Copernican revolution in Astrophysics and in Science in general. In this review I will briefly revise the short history and the methods employed to detect exoplanets and how they will be discovered in the near future. A special emphasis will be given to the exoplanet candidates detected via the radial velocity method and to those directly detected in very young star clusters.
