A three parameter family of multirevolution Runge¿Kutta explicit methods with order five and six stages is derived using suitable simplifying assumptions. An optimal method of this family is selected by choosing the available parameters so that vanish the coefficients of some elementary differentials in the leading error term.
Numerical experiments are presented to show the behaviour of the new method for some oscillatory problems.
