  • Recently, Chaturvedi, Green and Carroll (2001) presented a nonparametric approach to deriving clusters from categorical data using a new clustering procedure called
    -modes. Huang (1998) proposed the
    -modes clustering algorithm. In this note, we demonstrate the equivalence of the two
    -modes procedures.
