In this expositive manuscript, the basic theory of differentiable 2-manifolds is studied and its application to the understanding of the Denjoy–Siegel Theorem on the 2-torus T2 is presented. This result states that the integral curves for a given Cr , r ≥ 2, non-singular vector field X, are such that some of them can be periodic or all of them are ergodic. Besides, the basic theory of foliations by curves is studied, and derived from the analysis of the Denjoy–Siegel Theorem. Moreover, an example of the concept of codimensión 1 foliation is given, where the leaves are given by the integral curves corresponding to X.
