      Este artículo analiza la sostenibilidad de lo experimental en bibliotecas públicas a partir del estudio de caso BiblioLab 9B Espai Jove, un laboratorio bibliotecario impulsado en 2 bibliotecas del distrito de Nou Barris (Barcelona). El trabajo estudia las condiciones que hacen posible la estabilización o la disolución de lo experimental en la infraestructura bibliotecaria desde una perspectiva relacional, apoyada en los marcos teóricos de los Estudios Sociales de la Ciencia y la Tecnología (STS) y la Teoría del Actor-Red (ANT).

      La investigación, de carácter cualitativo y exploratorio, sigue las trayectorias diferenciadas que recorrió una misma activación experimental, desplegada de forma simultánea en 2 bibliotecas distintas. Los resultados muestran que lo experimental no emerge automáticamente tras desplegar un modelo específico de innovación bibliotecaria, emplear determinadas metodologías participativas, ni desarrollar ciertas prácticas en espacios específicos de la biblioteca, sino que depende de la capacidad de la biblioteca para articular una red que lo haga practicable. La continuidad de un laboratorio bibliotecario requiere infraestructuras relacionales estables, equipos profesionales cohesionados y prácticas de cuidado que sostengan la cooperación entre actores diversos. El estudio concluye que un laboratorio no transforma por sí mismo a la biblioteca, sino que la transformación emerge cuando la institución logra integrar la lógica de lo experimental (marcada por la apertura, la provisionalidad y la negociación) en su propia infraestructura organizativa.

      This article analyses the sustainability of experimental practices in public libraries through the case study of BiblioLab 9B Espai Jove, a library lab carried out in 2 libraries in the district of Nou Barris (Barcelona). The study examines the conditions that make possible the stabilisation or dissolution of the experimental within the library infrastructure from a relational perspective, grounded in the theoretical frameworks of Science and Technology Studies (STS) and Actor-Network Theory (ANT). The research, qualitative and exploratory in nature, follows the differentiated trajectories of a single experimental activation deployed simultaneously in 2 distinct libraries. The results show that the experimental does not emerge automatically by implementing a specific model of library innovation, by employing particular participatory methodologies, or by developing certain practices within designated library spaces. Rather, it depends on the library’s capacity to articulate a network that makes it practicable. The continuity of a library lab requires stable relational infrastructures, cohesive professional teams, and practices of care that sustain cooperation among diverse actors. The study concludes that a laboratory does not transform the library by itself;

      transformation emerges when the institution succeeds in integrating the logic of the experimental —marked by openness, provisionality, and negotiation— into its own organisational infrastructure.
