  • Resumen
    • School backwardness is considered a problem within universities because of its relationship with school dropout and failure to meet the established time to complete a study program. As a result of the health contingency due to Covid-19, classes were moved to virtual mode, causing an abrupt change in the work dynamics of the students. The objective of this research is to detect the causes of school lag in students who participated in the virtual modality as a result of the contingency by Covid-19, as well as to identify the current conditions they present in their return to face-to-face attendance. A questionnaire-type measurement instrument was developed that measures the perceptions of students who completed the first two semesters of an engineering degree. The results show that the main causes of school lag in this period of health contingency in UABC engineering students were the development of academic activities and online working conditions.

Finally, it describes the proposals and recommendations to improve the conditions of students who fall behind in school and reduce it.
