Resumen de Potencial del teléfono inteligente en la educación superior en tiempos del Covid-19

  La pandemia generada por la presencia del Covid-19 a finales del año 2019, ha traído múltiples cambios en la dinámica de comportamiento de la humanidad, incidiendo en aspectos laborales, educativos, sociales entre otros, lo que ha repercutido en la calidad de vida de las personas. Los teléfonos inteligentes han sido fundamentales en estos tiempos, con el fin de implementarlos en las diferentes tareas diarias. Objetivo: Identificar el potencial del teléfono inteligente en los centros universitarios por medio de una encuesta dirigida a estudiantes en la ciudad de Medellín, en relación a su utilización en el sector educativo. Método: El proceso investigativo es de tipo multidimensional, seleccionando 357 estudiantes; los datos fueron analizados mediante técnicas multivariadas. Resultados: El teléfono inteligente en el aprendizaje se emplea por un alto porcentaje de los indagados, aunque tienen una baja autopercepción de habilidad para su uso académico, con divergencia estadística (p<0.0001) entre sexos; teniendo una percepción más baja en las mujeres. Discusión y conclusiones: Los datos aportados en la presente investigación reflejan que el teléfono inteligente tiene alto potencial en el proceso educativo en tiempos del Covid-19; no obstante, para aprovechar el potencial de esta tecnología en las diferentes actividades académicas, se requiere que los entes educativos de nivel superior implementen estrategias institucionales orientadas a la formación de sus estudiantes sobre el uso académico del teléfono inteligente, para mejorar su grado de adopción de m-learning en los diferentes escenarios universitarios y permitir la capacitación de sus docentes en pro del uso pedagógico del m-learning y la inserción curricular del teléfono inteligente como herramienta útil para el aprendizaje.

  The pandemic generated by the presence of Covid-19 at the end of 2019, has brought multiple changes in the behavior dynamics of humanity, affecting labor, educational, social aspects, among others, which has affected the quality of life of people. Smartphones have been fundamental in these times, in order to implement them in the different daily tasks. Objective: To identify the potential of the smartphone in university centers through a survey aimed at students from the city of Medellin, in relation to its use in the educational sector. Method: The research process is multidimensional, selecting 357 students; The data was analyzed using multivariate techniques. Results: The smartphone in learning is used by a high percentage of those investigated, although they have a low self-perception of the capacity for academic use, with statistical divergence (p <0.0001) between the sexes; a lower perception in women was detected. Discussion and conclusions: The data provided in this research reflects that the smartphone has a high potential in the educational process in the days of Covid-19; However, to take advantage of the potential of this technology in different academic activities, higher-level educational entities are required to implement institutional strategies aimed at training their students in the academic use of smartphones, to improve their degree of adoption of m -learning in the different universities and allow the training of their professors in favor of the pedagogical use of m-learning and the curricular insertion of the smartphone as a useful tool for learning.
