The Tourist Expenditure Survey (Encuesta de Gasto Turístico, EGATUR) tries to determinate the expenditure made by foreign travelers who visit Spain. The data from each questionnaire are assigned to a single main destination autonomous community, but not necessarily the only one visited. Therefore, the real expenditure made in each autonomous community can not be determined. This problem is being the object of study in the line 9 of the project ``Ciencia e ingeniería de datos para la mejora de la función estadística oficial''. Our proposal consists of estimating a matrix whose elements will represent the probability of real expenditure in each autonomous community for a given main destination. Using this matrix, it will posible to estimate the real expenditure in each autonomous community. The present paper revises a first approach to estimate this matrix built from the proportion of visits or overnight stays in the different autonomous communities.
