    La toma de decisiones del profesor es un foco importante de investigación de la cognición del profesor. En este artículo presentamos evidencia, a través de un estudio de casos de tres profesores de matemáticas, de cómo un modelo de toma de decisiones del profesor ante situaciones inesperadas permite describir este proceso a partir de cinco elementos: situación inesperada, propósito, las opciones consideradas, la valoración y la selección de una opción y la secuencia de acciones. Pudimos interpretar todas las situaciones analizadas con base en el modelo y consideramos que este puede usarse a futuro en estudios que permitan caracterizar los procesos de toma de decisiones de los profesores en estas situaciones.

    Teacher decision making is an important research focus of teacher cognition. In this article, we present evidence, through a case study of three mathematics teachers of how a teacher decision-making model allows us to describe this process based on five elements: unexpected situation, the purpose that the teacher formulates, the options considered, the assessment and selection of an option, and the sequence of actions. We found that we were able to interpret all the situations analysed based on the model and we consider that it can be used in studies characterizing the decision-making processes of teachers in these situations.
