    Presentamos una propuesta didáctica basada en la implementación de un recorrido de estudio einvestigación (REI) para la educación secundaria obligatoria en el área de la combinatoria. Losresultados corresponden al análisis a posteriori de una primera experimentación del REI conalumnos de 4º de la ESO en un centro educativo con larga experiencia en la innovación educativa.El análisis de esta primera experimentación nos sirve de base para la descripción de algunascondiciones institucionales que han favorecido la gestión del REI y la detección de restriccionesinstitucionales que han afectado su evolución prevista inicialmente. Intentamos en particularidentificar qué aspectos de la tradición educativa del centro podrían explicar estas condiciones yrestricciones, para poder avanzar en el estudio de la ecología de los REI en la enseñanza secundaria.

    We present a didactic proposal based on the implementation of a study and research path (SRP) forcompulsory secondary education in the area of combinatorics. The results correspond to the aposteriori analysis of a first experiment of the SRP with grade 10 students in a school with a longexperience in educational innovation. The analysis of this first experimentation serves as a basis forthe description of some institutional conditions that have favoured the management of the SRP andthe detection of institutional restrictions that have affected its initially foreseen evolution. Inparticular, we try to identify what aspects of the educational tradition of the centre could explainthese conditions and restrictions, in order to progress in the study of the ecology of SRPs in secondaryeducation.
