  Neste artigo discutimos a necessidade de mudança no processo de ensino e pesquisa praticado em cursos de licenciatura em matemática, pois a diretriz para a formação do professor de matemática deve priorizar o desenvolvimento da habilidade investigatória desse profissional, apoiando-se em três pilares: os aspectos histórico-epistemológicos da matemática, o contexto sócio-cultural e o processo cognitivo de geração da matemática.

  Acreditamos que assim o futuro professor fará na sua prática docente uma investigação constante do desenvolvimento cognitivo dos estudantes.

  In this article we discussed the change need in the teaching process and researches practiced in degree courses in mathematics, because the guideline for the mathematics teacher's formation should prioritize the development of that professional's ability investigatory, leaning on in three pillars: the aspects description-epistemological of the mathematics, the sociocultural context and the cognitive process of generation of the mathematics. We believed that the future teacher will do like this in your educational practice a constant investigation of the students cognitive development.
