Resumen de El ajedrez como recurso didáctico en la enseñanza-aprendizaje de las Matemáticas

  El ajedrez es un juego que se puede enseñar a los alumnos en los primeros años de escolarización. De ahí que los futuros profesores deban de conocer algunas técnicas para llevarlo a cabo y debido al paralelismo que tiene con las matemáticas, se pueda utilizar como recurso en su enseñanza-aprendizaje. El tablero en sí aporta un apoyo para plantear actividades de contar, de colocar sobre él pentominós, de utilizar los movimientos del caballo, rey, torre, alfil y dama. Se presentan algunas actividades para trabajar los futuros profesores en el aula, aplicables, la mayoría, al currículo de Matemáticas de Educación Primaria y Secundaria encaminadas a desarrollar las competencias e iniciarse en la resolución de problemas.

  Chess is a game that can be taught to children right from the first year of compulsory schooling. For this reason, future teachers should know some techniques to teach and, because of the parallelism the game has with mathematics, they could use it as a valuable resource for the teaching and learning of this subject. The chessboard in itself provides support for counting, for having the pentominoes placed, for using the knight, king, rook, bishop and queen movements. Some activities to be worked on in the classroom by future teachers are presented, the great majority applicable to the Primary and Secondary Education Mathematics syllabus, which are aimed at developing the competencies and at initiating the students in problem solving.
